We are seeing encouraging growth in attendance practices across our district, and third quarter is an important time to maintain momentum. During testing season, daily attendance plays a powerful role in helping students feel prepared, confident, and ready to succeed.

Elementary School
Power-UP for Testing Success!
 

At School:
  • Battery charts displayed in classrooms or hallways that “fill up” with daily attendance.
  • Brain-themed visuals with messages such as “Fully Charged for Success!”
  • Superhero-style displays with capes labeled “Focus,” “Effort,” and “Confidence.”
  • Daily reminders that “Attendance is Your Superpower!”
  • Class progress celebrated throughout the challenge window.
At Home:
  • Talk with your child about why being present during testing season matters.
  • Establish a consistent bedtime and morning routine.
  • Help your child prepare materials and clothes the night before.
  • Celebrate attendance streaks and effort at home.

Middle School
Level-Up Leaderboard Challenge

At School:
  • Grade-level or advisory Level-Up Leaderboards tracking attendance percentages.
  • Students with 90% or higher attendance qualify for incentives.
  • Testing countdown visuals and announcements reinforcing preparation.
  • Weekly shout-outs for improved or consistent attendance.
  • Hallway or digital displays featuring “Be Present. Be Prepared. Be Powerful!”
At Home:
  • Set a family attendance goal for the challenge window.
  • Encourage preparation the night before testing days.
  • Reinforce focus, effort, and accountability.
  • Help reduce morning stress by planning ahead.
